Dominating a rock wall in Gobernator Canyon,

New Mexico are a pair of large human figures

holding hands-a male and a pregnant female.

It is possible that these petroglyphs

were associated with fertility rights

and prayers for a  successful pregnancy.

These figures appear united in their

anticipation of the new child to come.
