Friendship

 (The following story is included)

This Hopi design signifies friendship.

After religious festivals, participants join in a

parting dance called the “dance of the linkedfinger”.

They form a double line, crossing their arms in

front of them, linking forefingers of either hand

with those of their neighbors. The handshake,

holding hands - even hugs are ways of dropping

our defenses & letting friends into our

"inner circle".
